who's your baby now?

I suppose you'd all like to know that I have been forgiven. The missing buckle still hasn't turned up, but I have the day off work tomorrow, so guess what I'll be doing?

Jennie is falling asleep on the couch, so I'll keep this short and get my ladies to bed as quickly as possible.

I'm pleased with this picture for several reasons;

  1. Naomi is sleeping. This is always a good thing. It is easier to make a sleeping baby stop sleeping, if you really need to, than it is to make an wakeful baby sleep.

  2. Naomi is cuddling a soft toy. This is a new development, and also a good thing. When she is tired, Naomi will rub her eyes until they are visibly sore. Cuddling the toy stops her.

  3. I bought her that toy!!! I can't really explain why that means so much to me but it does. Put it this way, I normally try to avoid using any exclamation marks.

Another reason to be pleased with the picture is that I have managed to post it at all. We've been having problems posting pictures to blogger for several weeks now. It's getting very frustrating and is one of the reasons that you're getting so few posts to read. If anyone has suggestions, they'd be received gratefully.

Random Angry Blog

I'm hoping writing this might help calm me down and give Russell more chance of being let back in the house tonight! I'm currently waiting for a friend to come and deliver their baby car seat. A bizarre thing to wait for I hear you say, especially when you're supposed to be at your friend's baby's christening in five minutes in South Queensferry. The problem is that on cleaning our car seat, which Naomi had kindly christened from the lower end, Russell put the all important buckle in a safe place. (In his defense he did clean the seat without any prompting from me and without complaining) Unfortunately, Russell's safe places are rather cliche in the fact that you can never find them. This means we now have a useless car seat and any chance I have of rectifying this is greatly reduced by the fact I can't go anywhere because I don't have a car seat! Luckily we have friends willing to deliver, at least I hope so but he's still not here yet so I'm beginning to panic again. Looks like I've missed the Christening but I've been assured they'll still be celebrating in the pub for many hours yet. The Hasson legacy of missing the important part lives on.

I'm not sure if Naomi's constant laughing has made this all better or worse.

Olympic Swimmer

Woo hoo. At last we finally made it to swimming (and back). Naomi seemed to like wearing her swimming costume for the photo shoot but didn't get to swim in it as the splash about happy nappy she has to wear is huge. She swam at least 10 lengths, jumped into the pool and went underwater once. Throughout all this she feigned indifference and spent most of the lesson looking at the walls, but no tears so no complaints from me.

Mysterious Ways

We have a new camera at last, it's black! Any of you who have a camera and know Tim will be well aware of the risk of leaving your camera unattended. (sorry Tim but you have to stop supplying the photos)

Well, we've discovered someone else who does this. We'd only had the new camera half an hour when this appeared on it.

The Strangest Thing

I picked up a rumour that someone was disappointed by the lack of bbq photo. Well here it is and I'll leave you to guess why it wasn't posted. Anyway, look quick before I'm forced to remove it.

The swimming saga update is that the school has finally said the pool won't be ready. Waterbabies are currently looking for an alternative venue so still no swimming costume photo.

Lazing On A Sunny Afternoon

Where is the swimming photo I hear you cry? Well, it was cancelled again so forget praying for my nervousness and try praying that the pool will be ready this time. I thought you might like to see our super duper parasol instead, only the best for our little one!

Sorry I've been slacking on the updating, times been flying by at an alarming rate again. I can't believe Naomi is now over 3 months old.

I Like To Ride My Bicycle

12 weeks old and riding a bike, who didn't see that coming. We just need to lower the saddle a bit and get a longer stem bit and she'll be fine, oh and find a small enough helmet. Luckily Naomi seemed to enjoy her time at Glentress which is a good thing as I'm sure it's the first of many visits.

We also had our first bbq with her last night. She smells of sausages today.

The proud dad and the not so sure baby.

Wide Open Space

'Hey mummy, do you think I can manage a whole wagon wheel yet?'

Naomi had one of those lovely days yesterday where she decided to throw up every 5 minutes. By mid-day I gave up and dressed her in a towel. Why is it that all baby stuff comes with ears on it?

Although her dummy does indeed match her towel, it is not intentional. Though today it matched her hat, maybe I am getting too addicted to this dressing babies malarkey.

Hot of the press: last night we managed to book swimming lessons which were due to start today. Unfortunately the pool isn't heating properly so the they will start next week. Hopefully this will mean cute swimsuit picture next wednesday. If anyone can spare a prayer next wedns at 1.30pm I'll appreciate it as I'm quite nervous as to how she'll take to the pool and whether she can avoid being sick for 30 mins (though I figure she'll be quite happy as long as it doesn't involve shampoo)

Talk to me

I've had several comments in real life from people who wanted to comment on this blog but didn't want to register with blogger to do so. Well, now you can.
