Dedicated Follower Of Fashion

hmmm, I'd just like to clarify that the heading on the last post had nothing to do with it being our anniversary and everything to do with the photo.

This picture was taken when Naomi was 8 days old, I should really try the coat on her again just to prove she has grown.

When I was pregnant people took great delight in telling me that my memory would go and that it would just get worse. Today I went shopping for an anniversary card (yes I forgot to get one for yesterday) and I've just realised that I've come out with 2 birthday cards (sorry mum, it'll be a bit late but at least you know I forgot my anniversary too) and hair bands for my neice but no anniversary card. I give up.

Bad Day

I thought I'd post a couple of pictures that we took in March seen as we didn't post much then. I'm having a few problems with the attaching pictures just now which should explain the lack of posts last week.

It was our five year anniversary yesterday and we've managed to obtain an evening pass so that we can celebrate tonight. I may give you a verdict on the meal tomorrow. Five years has flown by and it really doesn't seem that long since I met Russell but I can't remember what life was like without him. I guess we'll be saying the same about Naomi in five years time!

Don't Stop Me Now

For weeks now I've been trying to get Naomi to stick out her tongue so that she'll have another expression that looks like me (she's got a cracking frown). Last week she finally decided to perform. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to like to perform for the camera and also once she's started sticking her tongue out it's all she does for the rest of the day.......well apart from eat, cry, sleep etc.

New Kid On The Block

I discovered a new kitchen utensil today, it's amazing what you find when you tidy up. I'm not sure what it does yet so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. It did seem to topple over occasionally and emit a high pitched noise.

Naomi and I have now officially had our first yoga class. Naomi seemed to think there was too much lying around in it, I personally didn't think there was enough.

Sunshine on Leith

Funnily enough, Naomi takes after me in this respect. She enjoys sunbathing, but has to wear thick socks, woolly trousers and a jacket before going outside. A quandary.

We've borrowed a camera from my sister, so expect more photos. Also, I think Russell has finally managed to explain how to use this blog in short enough words, so that I can post when he's at work. Expect the quality of writing to go downhill once I get the keyboard off him, and he stops pretending to be me.

We passed another land mark the other day. Naomi has pretty much grown out of the newborn fold, so we started trying some different folds. To our dismay, the poo-catcher fold didn't. We're currently experimenting with various different folds, with limited success. I promise we won't keep you up to date on all the results. If you really want pictures, you can email me and I'll send you links to various self-help and therapy sites.

You'll all know that Naomi was a bit slow to gain weight in her first few weeks. The more exciting thing about out-growing nappy folds is that it means she's growing steadily now. Every time I look at Naomi I remember what a faithful God we have.

Why does it always rain on me?

I've taken a week off work. I wanted to have a bit of time with Jennie and Naomi and I wanted to be not working for my birthday.

We spent a few days at the start of the week visiting Jennie's family in Haltwhistle. On Monday, we woke and it was gloriously sunny. The plan was to go for a walk; fresh air, sunshine, do you good, that sort of thing. We bundled Naomi up, and drove to Hadrian's wall. As we got out of the car, we felt a few drops of light rain and thought nothing of it. We spent 15 minutes in the hail, before running back to the car. Of course, by the time we got back to Haltwhistle, which was about 10 minutes drive, the sun was out again.

Yesterday, it was nice and sunny. We had some shopping to do, so we decided to walk into town to pick some stuff up. The picture says it all really.

Sadly, the weather pictured killed our camera. I'm pretty certain it isn't going to recover, so don't expect many pictures until it is replaced.

Some happy news. Naomi took her first meal by bottle today. This means I got to feed her. If you've never fed your own child, you won't know how special that is. It's special.
