Bicycle made for two

In case you hadn't realised, I enjoy riding bicycles. I love riding my road bike fast or far. I love riding my mountain bike up or down (but usually slowly). In fact, I pretty much like to ride any old bike anywhere. In Bolivia, I used to borrow a bike that weighed nearly as much as I do, but it was a bike, so I liked riding it. Jennie also has two bikes, which she enjoys riding, even if not quite so rabidly as me.

With this parentage, and with previous posts in mind, I suppose it wasn't long before this happened:

I grew up riding in a seat like that. My earliest memories of bicycling include the feeling of wickerwork gradually embedding itself in my knees (I suspect I was probably "a little to big for it" at that time). I remember my mum and dad making the decision that we were all probably "a little to big for it," and besides it had seen better days, and shouldn't we probably move on to something different now?

In hindsight, that's a little weird, because you won't see anything much more "different" than this seat.

Anyway, it took far longer than it should have to fit the beast this evening (although it was a nice excuse for a stronger rack than I used to have). Naomi and me will be testing it tomorrow.

Expect an update.

Glad the basket was a success. I wondered whether there was a baby under the helmet, but I suppose it might be difficult to get the bike adequately balanced. I look forward to seeing an action photo.
